Dear Friend,

Thank you for your continued support as we head into what promises to be a busy and exciting summer!

The coming months will focus on voter outreach, and we'll be taking our message from door to door across the district. Keep up to date with all the latest campaign news by visiting our newly revamped website at http://www.Ben2006.com. The new site also features more detailed information about the issues that matter, campaign events and merchandise.

You can also use the new website to get more involved in the campaign. There's always work to be done here at our new office in Mohegan Lake, and we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help out. If you or someone you know would be interested in lending a hand to our progressive, grassroots campaign, please let me know.

Sue Kelly and the Republicans are starting to feel the pressure, and we're not going to back down. We're taking our message to homes, schools and town halls this summer, and with your help, we'll take it all the way to the U.S. Congress this fall.

Thank you again for support, and let's keep up the good work!

Sincerely,

Ben

Vassar Democrats Endorse Shuldiner

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Ben Shuldiner now has the Vassar College Democrats on his side in his bid to unseat Rep. Sue Kelly (R).

The Vassar Democrats endorsed Shuldiner last month from among a field of six candidates competing in the September primary. The group, which boasts close to 500 members, will also help Shuldiner collect

the petition signatures needed to gain ballot access.

Kari Kretch, president of the Vassar Democrats, said that the group met with the candidates to discuss their platforms before deciding on Shuldiner.

"While they all want to beat Sue Kelly, we found that Ben has the energy, enthusiasm and appeal necessary to rally the voters," Kretch said. "Ben has a great grasp of the issues and defies many of the negative stereotypes about Democrats. He also has the charisma needed to defeat Sue Kelly, and I can't

emphasize that enough."

Shuldiner praised students at Vassar for their involvement in politics. He said that young voters, often written off as apathetic, could have an important impact on the political process.

"It is always inspiring to encounter young people who are passionately engaged in the issues," Shuldiner said. "I am honored to have the support of the Vassar College Democrats, and look forward to working with them as the campaign progresses."

Open House Attracts New and Old Faces Alike

MOHEGAN LAKE, N.Y. — Core supporters and some local residents were on hand for the opening of Ben Shuldiner’s new congressional campaign headquarters here on May 31.

Staffers said the new office, located in the heart of New York’s 19th congressional district and next door to Shuldiner’s hometown of Crompond, would provide more space for essential campaign functions ahead of a competitive September primary.

Ben meets with old friends and new volunteers.

Posting a large "Ben Shuldiner for Congress" sign outside the office, visible to passersby on Route 6, campaign workers said they hope the new office will draw residents with an interest in local politics and new volunteers for the campaign.

Food Drive a Major Success

MOHEGAN LAKE, N.Y. — This month, Ben Shuldiner’s congressional campaign asked New Yorkers for more than just their votes.

In the week leading up to National Hunger Awareness Day last Tuesday, the campaign collected food donations from around the district. The food will be donated to Food-PATCH, a Westchester County food bank.

Staffers said the drive was very successful, and stressed the importance of service in the community even as the political season heats up.
